Explosions and smoke rise over Gazan buildings after Israeli strikes.

Unchallenged Israeli impunity feeds latest unlawful strikes on innocent Palestinians, in egregious violation of ceasefire

London, 29th October 2025 – On Tuesday night, Israel carried out a series of unlawful strikes on Gaza, in its deadliest violation yet of the current ceasefire. The attacks killed at least 104 Palestinians, including 46 children, and wounded at least 253. These numbers are set to rise.

Since the ceasefire came into effect on the 10th of October, at least 211 Palestinians have been killed and 597 wounded in Israeli attacks, while 482 bodies have been recovered, the Ministry of Health in Gaza said. Women and children make up the vast majority of this death toll.

Israel’s genocide on Gaza has now killed at least 68,643 people and wounded 170,655, though these figures are expected to be severe underestimations.

Whilst this represents Israel’s most large-scale ceasefire violation to date, Israel has persistently and unlawfully violated the ceasefire in a deliberate attempt to disrupt an already fragile attempt at peace in Gaza, displaying its total lack of regard for Palestinian life or for a peace process.

US President Trump, who brokered the unstable and cruelly insufficient ceasefire deal, said yesterday that Israel has a “right” to launch such unlawful strikes, suggesting the US administration is more concerned with protecting the vanity project of Trump’s 20-point plan rather than bringing an immediate end to the ongoing genocide, famine and apartheid in Palestine.

Israel maintains an unwavering commitment to derailing peace by all necessary means, that has been emboldened by the silence and complicity of the UK and other Western states who have refused to challenge Israel’s astounding impunity.

In striking and killing dozens of sleeping children overnight, Israel has proven once again that it can act unchallenged by its allies who continually refuse to hold Israel to the same standards of international law as the rest of the world.

A ceasefire must mean safety, security, and recovery for the suffering Palestinians of Gaza. Instead, we have seen the continued restriction of lifesaving humanitarian aid by Israel, the continued indefinite detention of thousands of innocent Palestinians in Israeli prisons, the profiting of Israeli contractors carrying out demolition work in the ruins of Gaza, and fatal Israeli strikes on Palestinian civilians, including men, women and children.

ICJP calls for the immediate withdrawal of all Israeli troops from the whole of Gaza, not just up to the ‘yellow line’,  the rapid distribution of humanitarian aid into the strip by capable actors like UNRWA, the release of thousands of unlawfully detained Palestinians from Israeli prisons, and for Israel to be held immediately accountable for war crimes, crimes against humanity, and genocide, in line with international law.
