ICJP appalled by ‘depraved’ summary execution of two Palestinian men in Jenin

London, 28th November 2025 – On Thursday, 27th of November 2025, the Israeli Occupation Forces (IOF) assassinated two unarmed Palestinian men in Jenin. The men were shot at point-blank range while on their knees, arms raised, having lifted their shirts to show they were unarmed. The two men were identified by Palestinian authorities to be Al-Muntasir Abdullah, 26, and Yousef Asasa, 37.

The International Centre of Justice for Palestinians (ICJP) is appalled by yesterday’s assassinations. The systematic dehumanisation of Palestinian lives by the Israeli regime is fundamental to Israel’s apartheid control of the West Bank, which continues unchecked by Western governments, despite the International Court of Justice’s ruling on the illegality of the occupation.

These extrajudicial killings are yet another example of Israel’s chilling pattern of violations of international law, showing its brazen disregard for the fundamental human right to life, the most basic of international principles. This brazenness arises directly from an air of impunity provided to Israeli soldiers by Israeli ministers that encourage such egregious crimes, and Western governments that are ambivalent.

ICJP calls for urgent and immediate action from Western governments. Ministers who incite such violence, should be sanctioned in their professional capacity, rather than just their personal capacity. For instance, Itamar Ben Gvir the Israeli, Minister of National Security, who said “The fighters acted exactly as expected of them – terrorists should die!”

The systematic and relentless denial of Palestinians’ humanity, with their lives treated as expendable, is a direct consequence of both long running Israeli policy and the international community’s persistent inaction to confront these crimes. The killing of Muntasir and Yousef also follows a pattern of increased Israeli violence against Palestinians in the West Bank, which mirrors increased violence during the previous Gaza ceasefire in early 2025.

ICJP Public Affairs and Communications Officer, Órlaith Roe, said:

“Yesterday’s assassinations in Jenin are clear-cut and frankly depraved extrajudicial killings. Such violence is fundamental to Israel’s violent and illegal occupation of the West Bank, and Israel’s pledge to investigate is a blatant smoke screen: almost every prior internal inquiry has ended in silence, and there is little reason to expect this one to be any different.

Meanwhile, the Labour government’s recognition of a Palestinian State is meaningless if that state is being erased. We are far beyond the point of asking Keir Starmer to act with integrity, but if the UK Government has any shred of humanity left, they will take urgent, concrete steps to stop the violent dispossession, occupation, and genocide against Palestinians.”
