ICJP submits formal complaint and evidence to Advertising Standards Authority concerning ‘Great Israeli Real Estate’ event

London 17th June, 2026 – ICJP has submitted a formal complaint to the UK Advertising Standards Authority (ASA) raising concerns around the promotion and marketing of properties in illegal Israeli settlements in occupied Palestinian territory (oPt) at the ‘Great Israeli Real Estate’ event in Edgware United Synagogue on 14th June 2026.

This complaint includes clear evidence of marketing and promotional materials relating to properties in illegal settlements.

While FCDO ministers confirmed yesterday that they had referred the event to the ASA, urging an investigation, media reports indicated the ASA maintained that no investigation would take place as they had not received any evidence pertaining to the event’s unlawful advertising.

Given ICJP’s complaint has been submitted today directly to the ASA and contains clear evidence of unlawful advertising at the ‘Great Israeli Real Estate’ event, we expect urgent and thorough action on the matter. The public, as consumers, are entitled to receive accurate and complete information about the properties marketed to them, including material information about location, legal status and associated risks.

This event not only marketed properties in illegal settlements including Ma’ale Adumim and Efrat, but also attempted to conceal its unlawful promotion of such properties.

ICJP previously made the Metropolitan Police and government ministers aware of the event’s legal risks prior to the event, and again after additional evidence was uncovered after the event.

Órlaith Roe, ICJP’s Public Affairs and Communications Officer, said:

“Given the ASA had seemingly indicated they could not investigate last Sunday’s event without an official submission of evidence, we expect they now have no reason not to act swiftly and thoroughly with the urgency this matter requires.

Evidence seen by ICJP clearly shows that promotional and marketing material at the ‘Great Israeli Real Estate’ event in Edgware United Synagogue breached the ASA’s guidelines on advertising, and if evidence is what the ASA was waiting for, they now have it. There is no excuse for inaction.”
